These Bulkpaq double-layer discs feature an extremely fast 8x write speed meaning that you can write 8.5GB in less than 16 minutes.
8.5GB of data equates to 240 minutes of video in standard play mode meaning you can fit even more of your favourite memories and yet still be assured that they are secure and protected.
The inkjet printable surface of these discs enables you to add your own designs with affordable machines such as the Epson R220 and R265 inkjet printers. The full-face printable surface allows you to print right up to the centre hub of the disc, producing extremely professional results.
ADVDInfo: RICOHJPND01 Packaging: Bulkpaq branded spindle tubs of 25 discs.
We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of double layer media as a large number reported problems we receive are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.
Please Note: Some writers don't fully support burning to this media at 8x. Pioneer writers have a known speed issue.

Good job I like beer because at this rate I'll have 100 new coasters!
So far 6/6 have failed for various reasons switching to 2nd layer at 4x on my Pioneer 111D with f/w 1.29.
I've had packs of 4x bulkpaq before and they were 100% so can't understand why these 8x seem to suck so bad!

Excellent value for money
I bought a tub of these and the first attempt failed.
After I updated my firmware I haven't had a problem and have ordered more today.

Nice disks
I have recently bought 25 of these and 10 out of 10 have worked so far, no errors at 2.4 x on my pioneer 112D.

Poor Quality lets these disks down
I only bought 25 of these disks and used a NEC ND-4571A (no idea what firmware - IO think original whne I bought it about a year or so ago).
Had about 5 or 6 coasters (not a heavy user see so this has taken me over 3 months to use 25 of these and thus I can't be accurate on the total number of failures)
On all of the failed disks I can see either marks in the dye or missing dye areas (bit like a scratch or something from manufacture - but not any actual damage). I am sure it is not a compatability issue, just poor quality manufacturing.
If you get a good batch all should be well with NEC. They read fine in a PS3 if that is of any use.

Buy something else!
These are terrible. I have not had problems burning any disc before these, but I am getting a failure rate in the order of 30%.
Do yourself a favour and buy something else!!

Good But As Many Coasters As Burns.. :(
Good But As Many Coasters As Burns.. :(
I bought 50 of these discs and my old burner wouldn't burn a single one.
So as the discs cost around £20 i thought id buy a new burner to try.
A Pioneer DVR215D, This drive at least talks to the discs but tends to fail verification about 50% of the time..
Has anyone found and discs that actually work 99% of the time with this burner!?
DualLayer seem to be very picky!
(PS I updated to latest firmware yesterday)
THANKS

Good Stuff!
These work brilliantly on my Pioneer DVR-112 (with the lastest firmware). The print quality is really nice and sharp also! The price is amazing aswell... I've paid the same for single layer discs.
If you do have problems with these discs it could be your burner because I used to have a NEC 3530 and hardly any Double Layer discs worked on it, even with the lastest firmware. They all used to fail. But now I've bought a Pioneer DVR-112 burner almost all DL discs work on it! Which is great!
I would also like to say that I 'love' SVP! The customer service is totally fantastic and the best I've come across by far! I've bought loads of stuff and always had the best service! Thanks you VERY much!
