Great product
This is a fantastic bit of kit, which worked out of the box with no problems, and so simple to use that my wife can even opertate it. unlike a previous review, I did not find that the pictures automatically fill the screen, although video does which is a bit odd. And the MP3 player is a nice addition, and very good quality through headphones. Photos need to be resized to 16:9 to make full use of the whole screen area. Image Cropper is a good free program for doing this, and you can find it here: http://www.darkwood.demon.co.uk/PC/crop.htm

Great for video
After speanding ages converting files to MPEG4 as required in product specs. I was delighted when by accident I loaded a MPEG1 file and it worked. Work with MPEG1, 2, 4 files at suitable settings. Use this for training video on my desk

Does what it says
I bought one recently, and it works fine straight out of the box. So far we've only used it for still photos. Overall we're very pleased with it. Only slight niggle (and may well be a problem with other brands) is that it automatically expands all photos to use the full screen - generally this means that things (people!!) look wider than they are (think of watching analogue TV on a widescreen TV). I suspect that you can avoid this by cropping all of the photos first, but that seems excessive.

Poor picture quality
Not having anything to compare to but the picture quality of this frame is very poor and didnt do any of my test pictures any justice. If you resize any of you pictures to the given resoultion (480 x 234) you will see what I mean. No imagine that enlarged to fit a 7" screen, the picture becomes low in detail and blocky. Am intending to return mine. KK

quick review on a quick 15 min useage
I bought this for a Mums Birthday, so a quick review of mine before it gets the mum test. It doesnt autoplay on switch on, but its as easy as pressing power then play on the remote to play the pictures in sequence It loads jpgs just fine, good bright, good colours decent black , optional step: use picasa to shrink to 480 wide if you want to squeeze loads more pics on a card (thousands probably on a 512!) ( i bought 2 x kingston 512mb sd cards0 svp 2156) and works fine. It also plays divx movies from the internet and mp3's too, and sounds tinny but listenable, but sounds proper with the headphone socket. As for digital camera movies, by default they use a thing called motion jpeg which this player cant use, so you need to convert: they need to be either mpg encoded with .avi extension (nero or arcsoft media-converter can do that for you) or divx from winavi, once done, they look and sound just fine. These will be this years hottest item, get some quick before xmas, esp with the Â£10 google discount!
