After all the fuss about TY Discs!
I'm really disappointed! I bought these discs after reading about how wonderful TY discs are, and they won't write at all in my burner. It doesn't matter what speed I choose, I get errors on every single one. Out of the 15 or so discs I've tried, I've managed to get 2 to burn right!
It's really not good enough, I've had no problems at all from other manufacturer's discs in this burner, just these!

Are these really Ty discs?
Wow! how poor can you get? I always stick to Ty discs & this is the first time I've been disappointed. Out of the 100 I've found just 15 discs that don't have surface bubbles or marks! Now granted these don't seem to go right through to the burning surface, but would you trust them with important data???
If I hadn't have bought these from SVP I would be seriously questioning whether these weren't fakes! :( Maybe I got a friday afternoon job? Certainly won't be risking another spindles worth that for sure.

Nothing wrong with these, yet.
I have so far found these are fine for any audio cd and they play on every CD player that I have from up to date models right down to my car autochanger which is one of the first vehicles to be fitted with a CD player as standard.

No failures but poor audio performance
I have just completed burning the whole 100 pack I bought from SVP and I am pleased to report that all have burnt ok with 0 failures.
I am using a pioneer 110D DVD writer to burn these cdr's and have found 2 problems when burning audio CD's
1) Writing at any speed other then 16x results in the audio skipping (this problem does not exist in this drive when using Sony or Memorex discs)
2) Poor audio CD player compatibility. My Marantz CD63SE will not play these properly (if you try to skip track then it seeks for a while then gives up and stops) The standard fit VW CD changers struggle to read these as does the BMW cd changers.
Don't know if it is a Pioneer driver problem or if they are just generally bad for auddio. No problems with burning data though

Wow
It gets a bit dull the way people bang on about Taiyo Yuden discs being so good sometimes. And normally, I'd say that they just weren't worth the money unless you needed to keep something very precious in archive for a long time. But I started burning CDs in 1999, and the ONLY ones that are still totally error-free are Taiyo Yuden ones. Combine that with near-universal drive compatibility and fantastic quality burns, and you can see why a pack of 100 swaps hands for £28.00. You can also see why there's a market for respectable-but-not-quite-so-hot discs for a tenner or so.
But hold on...do my eyes deceive me? Is this really 100 of these premier league discs for £12.98 I see before me? It sure is. And it means that SVP have achieved CD-R nirvana - the best CD-R available anywhere in the world for less cash than the useless tat they sell for twice this price on the high street. Nothing short of a miracle.
There's no question - buy these discs immediately, and don't even consider anything else. I've tried the Datasafe variety, and so far they seem every bit as good as any other TY...cor blimey.

Great non-branded CDs
I bought a pack of these a week or so ago, I've used abot 70 so far, and each disc has been perfect, a big thanks to the people at SVP
