These budget priced discs have an extremely fast 8x write speed meaning that you can write 8.5GB in less than 16 minutes.

8.5GB of data equates to 240 minutes of video in standard play mode meaning you can fit even more of your favourite memories and yet still be assured that they are secure and protected.

The inkjet printable surface of these discs enables you to add your own designs with affordable machines such as the Epson R220 and R300 inkjet printers. The full-face printable surface allows you to print right up to the centre hub of the disc, producing extremely professional results.

ADVDInfo: RICOHJPND01
Packaging: Datawrite branded spindle tubs of 25 discs.

We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of double layer media as a large number reported problems we receive are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

Please Note: Some writers don't fully support burning to this media at 8x. Pioneer writers have a known speed issue.

Awful
I've always used datawrite in the past and had no problems on single layer.
I've used 6 of these dual layers so far and everyone is a coaster on my pioneer 107.
I will try and update the firmware and burn at a lower speeed to see if it makes a difference but I'm not holding out much hope!

Very Very Poor
I bought a spindle of these over 6 months ago. No success at all in a Pioneer 109,111 and 112. Also tried them in a friends Plextor PX800A all with the same result - a coaster. So ive had a spindle of these kicking around since then (with 20 remaining) that i cannot do anything at all with. In hindishgt i suppose i should have returned them to svp but hindsight makes all wise i guess.
To have nearly £16 tied up in blanks that you cant use is disappointing to say the least. I really dont know why svp continue to sell these because the general consenus seems to 'crap'.
Been using svp for years now and i can honestly say in all that time these are the only bad discs i have ever bought from them. So my advice to anyone contemplating getting these is dont, just not worth it. Well not worth it if you use a Pioneer or Plextor drive anyway, which is odd because Plextor burners are among the best out there, if not the best.

No Good
I bought these last November and everyone I have burnt so far is a coaster. I have tried them on the following Burners:
Pioneer 109
Pioneer 110
Pioneer 111
Philips SPD2400
and have just bought a new drive from SVP the Liteon DH-20A1P

The Pioneers will only see it as a 2.4x
The Philips and the Liteon see it as a 8x but it doesnt matter what speed I burn at they all Fail! Waste of money.

Don't buy these if you have any of the burners listed above.

Hmm, not impressed
well someone earlier said they worked fine on his NEC 3540A for 360 buring. The last guy said they didn't work atall.

I too have got 10/10 coasters using the NEC 3540A firmware 1.04 (latest - which is supposed to support this media), using varying speeds and software. Also didn't work on some LG drives i had a work, nor on the latest drive in the dell Optiplex 745. Grrr. Maybe it's because i'm burning movies rather than games? looks like i'll have to invest in a new NEC to get them to work.

Mixed feelings.
I have mixed feelings about these discs.

My first impression was very bad. On my main PC which has a NEC ND-3540A (firmware 1.04) I've had 6 out of 6 failures - regardless of write speed or software used.

Thinking I'd just wasted £20 I decided to try them on my media PC, which has a Philips SPD-2400L1 (firmware Y5H3) and I've had 4 out of 4 successes.

Considering how long dual layer media has been around now, the fact that they are still very fussy about which drives they will or won’t work in just isn’t acceptable.

Disappointing…

Again - no problem with NEC burner
Superb results from my NEC 4571a. This is the second batch I have burned with excellent results. Print surface is good too. Plays perfectly on my Panasonic DVD player as well as my daughter's JVC player. If you have a DVD burner - go for it!

0% success on Plextor PX-716A - waste of space
These discs aren't even worth the value of the volume of air they take up. If a Plextor drive can't burn them then what's the point. Plextor are the best burners in the industry and I'm shocked at how poor these discs perform. Never seen a brand so bad. Not only will I not buy these again, but I'm never buying Datawrite again!
I'm using Nero 7.7.5.1 on Vista with firmware 1.10 on my Plextor drive, and I've had nothing but coasters. Very disappointing :(
These ones are going back...

Not Good
First time with DL's. Brand new LG H12N drive, so far nothing but coasters. Usually 'fail to focus' error on second layer. Looks like a wasted 25 pack! Good job i bought a multi pack too to find out what does work.
