Following on from the 8x Mach4 disc, these cheap and cheerful 16x DVD-R have an attractive red top surface, branded with the Datawrite and Mach4 names and logos, with a faint pre-lined area at the bottom of the disc for displaying the disc contents.
We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of high-speed media as most reported problems are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

You get what you pay for
I've used these discs for some time now, and yeah I've got a few coasters with them but nothing really to complain about, out of my last order of 200 I had 10 coasters.
Just remember if you buy cheap expect a few faults.

Datawrite RED MACH 4
All 50 burnt fine be it DVD video or Data! Highly recommended.
My Plextor 716A seldom has a problem with any discs I put in it, my advice is get a decent drive keep the firmware updated and you should be fine!

Worst Discs Ever
So far from 9 discs, 5 are in the bin!! and i`m only into my first 50 out of 200 purchased.
The burners used were Pioneer DVR-109 & 112 models, with the prior being my "trusty old burner" thats generally pretty fantastic.
These discs are so bad, i`ll not be purchasing datawrite discs again. Poor poor quality.

A few errors
bought these disks and at first they were ok but only at 4-8x, hit a point where 15 disks failed to burn with my lg writer with updated firmware. so in the end over 1/4 didnt work so i spoke to svp and they were very helpful. they sent out a whole new load free of charge.
disks i would rate 5/10 and customer service 10/10, all the rest of my products i ordered were bang on

Shambles I am disgusted!!!
Ive just had a fair size order of various bits from SVP and 90% of it has something wrong with it, but these are the worse.
The description for these unless i am going blind says ADVDInfo: TTH02/MCC 03RG20, which I thought, would be great, as my LG-4163b writer loves both these dyes/mids. Well guess what after waiting four days my order arrives (to be fair it was done on the 99p special postage deal though).
First thing from my various bits I try are these thinking this will be great TTH02 or MCC 03RG20 dye for £6.20 bargain… How wrong that turned out to be, shoved one in the drive which took longer then normal to recognise a blank… Alarm bells in my head start to ring, I fire up DVDinfo and oh s**t they are CMC MAG AM3 dye NOT TTH02 or MCC 03RG20, if I had wanted cheap CMC rubbish that doesn’t perform that well in my LG-4163b NO MATTER WHAT VERSION OF FIRMWARE you install (so dont spin me that yarn!) id have bought the 20 pence cheap bulkpaq orange tops. Words fail me, falsely advertised and useless discs for me. In anger i have chucked them in the bin now. I imagine SVP would exchange them but i dont have time to mess about, queing at a post office when i should not have to. It wouldn’t have been a big deal but there were issues with my whole order, which I will comment on elsewhere. Oh and even if the dye was ok it’s a waste of cash. The top 4 discs are scratched from the use of a cheaper flimsy Styrofoam ring instead of the normal smaller foam ring which has not kept the discs tight and thus they have happily spun on their spindle and scratched there self… Not happy at all… these only get 1/10 cos I cant mark 0/10. Infact due to the mis-information on the lead-in/dye these deserve a minus mark. I suggest SVP start re-checking lead-in/dyes on new stock they aquire. Or remove that info completely. Very poor all round.

Superb
Bought 50 of these. Every one burned fine at 16x. However my NEC writer seems to take every blank DVD in its stride.
Like these DVDs for their tough coating. Just ordered another 100.
Perhaps they don't work well with some DVD writers but they're great with my NEC

Not too impressed
Weve had about 5 dvds fail on us now and were only half a pack through. On one of our writers it was working fine at 16x, but a few failed then on our other writer they would only work at lower speeds such as 4x or 8x.
In addition we have tried a new writer from aopen which seems to be ok, I think it should be ok as long as we dont hit any other bad dvds.
I guess this is why they are so cheap, so its fair enough.
All our firmware is updated btw.

EITHER EXCELLENT OR POOR...
i got a pack of 100 of these discs (11/04/07), turned out to be TTH02 dye (really crap from my testing so far)
burnt a wii game 4 times are different speeds
4x 6x 8x 12x
all failures,
tried some "old" datawrites with MCC 03RG20 dye and burnt at 16x and worked flawless.
so beware! and cross your fingers when buying these discs!
for the note my firmware IS upto date.

New Dye!! ADVDInfo: MCC 03RG20 NOT TTH02! Brilliant!!
Yes, the dye of the old mach4 (Datawrite is written in white color) was TTH02, the dye of this new Mach4 (Datawrite is in gold) is actually MCC 03RG20, which is superior to TTH02 :) I am getting fantastic results using my NEC 7173A, FW 1-O2….very cheap compared to the other media that use the same new dye (e.g. infiniti)….!!!!
