These discs have a titanium (dark grey) coloured top surface featuring the Datawrite logo. The writing surface of the disc is purple.
Datawrite inform us that this disc is one of the toughest discs they've ever made. This claim is backed up by several pieces of technology.
1) The dye is a of a high quality which means that all hardware will be able to make good quality, long lasting recordings of video/data/music. 2) Datawrite have paid particular attention to the quality of the polycarbonate layer (the middle section of the disc). This will improve the discs long term performance. 3) The top of the disc is protected by the titanium coloured top surface.
We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of high-speed media as most reported problems are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

CMC MAG M01???
This dye is inferior to most! I oredered a couple hundred of these disks due to past successes but was very dissapointed with these. When played back in various brands of players they ALL skip, freeze, and show digital artifacts (like a van Gogh painting). I've burned them in a pioneer dvr-108, dvr-109, a Nec 3540 all with the latest firmware, but with very bad results. I'll never buy these again! Nothing but Taiyo's and Verbatims for me any more...
Cheers

Waste of money
1 in 3 discs have to be thrown away after failing at 8x or above using Pioneer
DVR-109 16x recorder. I will not be buying this type again as they are a waste
of money and plastic.
**SVP TECH NOTE**
This sort of issue where the disc technology is newer than the DVD writer is often fixed with a firmware update.

These discs stink
No. Not performance wise - these, like all other Datawrite brand discs I have purchased, have performed flawlessly. This lastest batch, the first Titaniums I have purchased, do however carry a very strong odour. I assume it is a plasticizer. Bad enough normally but put one in a nice warm drive and stand by to have your sinuses cleared. This odour will hopefully decrease with time and is hopefully not a harbinger of instability in their construction.
Oddly, at the time I purchased this last batch, it was cheaper to buy two tubs of 25 than it was to buy a tub of 50.
The rating given is based on the performance of the discs only - I have let them off demerits for the smell.

Simply the best!
I can't reiterate enough what's already been said. I've used many different types and brands of DVD's and these certainly work out the best. Success rate is second to none so no wastage and frustration and with a 16x burn you'd be foolish not to use these. AND what a bargain price...as always from SVP!

My favorite dvd's
I've tried a few brands since I started with DVD and one day I tried Datawrite Titanium and they are simply the best I've used. I use them on my dvd recorder and they are very reliable. So far I've had about 2 fail on me but that's not bad since I've used so many.

100% Reliability
I've been a customer of SVP for nearly 3 years now, and have never looked back. Why?
Well the reason is simple, it's the media and products they stock. Take for example the excellent Datawrite Titanium, not only do they look good but they're damn reliable. I've lost count on how many 25 spindles I've bought (I wish they came in 100 packs), and so far I've only had one fail on me, maybe the reason was down to my daughter switching off my PC during the burn process. If you've got a 16 speeder unit, then you should seriously consider these guys. I reckon I've burned in the region of 300+ DVD's and with a 100% success rate, what more can one ask.
