These discs have a dark grey top surface with the familiar Datawrite Titanium branding and a 4-lined area at the bottom to display the disc contents.
In common with other double layer discs, these discs have a data capacity of 8.5GB which equates to 240 minutes of video in standard play mode meaning you can fit even more of your favourite memories and yet still be assured that they are secure and protected.
We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of double layer media as most reported problems are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

A definate NO! NO !
I bought these over about a week ago mainly for backing up my xbox 360 games (games I own ofcourse) but sadly theres not a single positive I have to say about them. so far have gone through 13 of the 25 disc spindle using all sorts of software for burning, however dont really see how burning software makes a difference anyway.
Burners used have been an NEC, an HP , a Pioneer 111d , 115d and lastly a liteon all burners having the latest available firmware.
Now the results I have had out of the 13 discs burnt so far is ONE successful burn for the 360 and all others fail on the " writing lead-out track"... so basically at the very end.
So I thought ok perhaps I should try making simple data discs for my other stuff and guess what , same problem. How that 1 successful burn came about is beyond my comprehension but 1 out of 13 are fairly bad odds.
So to anyone wishing to purchase these discs for whatever reason it may be, I would suggest to stop and dont just throw your money away.

Not compatible - LG GSA 4163B - rev. A103 A105 A106
After having problems with the Aone's [3655], I tried these and the ZeroDefex. Neither of which worked, same error using Nero 8 cannot start Disc-at-once, tried with ImgBurn and CloneCD, no joy.
Bit the bullet and bought a LiteON writer over the weekend and these have so far worked flawlessly. Yet to try the ZeroDefex.

Great for Xbox360
I use these disks for my Xbox360 backups, and even though it is said that the Verbs are the best for the job, these work ABSOLUTELY FINE for me! Infact, I would go as far as to say thy work GREAT!
In my Laptop they register as 2.4x, and in my main PC with my NEC AD-7173A they work totally fine at 4x (which is what I use 75% of the time on my backups). I did try 8x once and it did work, but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it on a regular basis for my backups.
Definitely worth a try!

Fair medium if you have a burner with firmware that recognises them
Bought two packs of these after numerous attempts to burn DL media as a last ditch attempt before going to Verbatims.
The batch I got were CMC MAG D04-00 types not CMC MAG D03-00 as stated on the SVP site at the time of writing this review. I've already had a set of dual layer media with this dye type and things didn't go so well.
In desperation I bought a couple of LiteON LH-20A1H drives. I was using a NEC 3520AH and a NEC 7170S before.
Results:
NEC 3520AH tried two firmwares 3.04 and 3.07
===========================
3.04 sees these as 2.4X speed only and writes to them OK. However after the disk is burnt, no drive even the 3520 can read them.
3.07 sees these as 4X speed only, same result as the 3.04 firmware; writes fine doesn't read in any drive.
NEC 7170S tried 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02 firmwares
===========================
1.00 doesn't recognise the disks
1.01 same as 1.00
1.02 recognises them as 4X, 6X and 8X media, however fails to burn due to a 'power calibration error' in Nero, ImgBurn and GnomeBaker
LiteOn LH-20A1H firmware out of the box was LL0C
==============================
Recognises these as 2.4X and 4X. Since the media are rated at 2.4X I burnt at this speed. SUCCESS! Not only did the media burn successfully but they were also readable by the LiteON, NEC 3520 and a burner in my laptop which I rarely use. The NEC 7170S However still doesn't read these disks so I doubt I'll be using that till NEC bother to get round to fixing the firmware. At the time of writing, 4X speed hasn't been tested yet but either way just being able to write to this media is good enough.
Testing some ZeroDEFEX disks at the moment and will see what happens with those. Will post results in a review for them on this site.
NB: Not sure if it made any difference but I used UDF+ISO as the burn type for all tests.

if only I could rate them less than 1!!!
I purchased a 10 pack of these a while back as the first dual layer disks to try out on my 111D and they worked perfectly (maybe 1 coaster) and all played on the xbox360 fine. I ordered 2x25 pack of these a recently and so far have had now success AT ALL ... Using the latest firmware and the latest the version of cloneCD, the 111D simply ejects the disks in disgust, pulls my pants down and laughs at me for wasting my money on these disks... Do not buy if you are using a Pioneer 111D

Great bang for buck.
For the price (42p per disk) I find these disks to be excellent! Out of 25 disks I have had 2 bad burns but they were of my own fault. The other 23 were absolutely perfect, 12 of them were Xbox360 backups which work 100% fine and the others were used for data, and had zero problems with those.
If you are looking for decent, cheap DL DVD+R then I suggest you give these a try. Absolutely GREAT for the price!

Cheap discs that end up in the bin...
Do yourself a favour and avoid these discs.
All mine failed during writeout, I am returning them back to SVP.
DAM! I thought I might save a few quid because these were cheap, goes to show sometimes you get what you pay for!
I used a Pioneer 111D IDE with latest firmware.
I had 0% luck with these others say the are OK,
my experience is AVOID THESE DISCS!

50/50 Success Rate
These discs are good when they work but every other disc has failed during writing out of the pack of 25 I got. They may be cheaper than other discs but if you're only getting results from half of the discs it's a false economy
