These discs have a titanium (dark grey) coloured top surface featuring the Datawrite logo. The writing surface of the disc is purple.
Datawrite inform us that this disc is one of the toughest discs they've ever made. This claim is backed up by several pieces of technology.
1) The dye is a of a high quality which means that all hardware will be able to make good quality, long lasting recordings of video/data/music. 2) Datawrite have paid particular attention to the quality of the polycarbonate layer (the middle section of the disc). This will improve the discs long term performance. 3) The top of the disc is protected by the titanium coloured top surface.

Titaniums
These disks are either perfect or all fail, I've had problems in the past with them delaminating after being dropped. Have had whole packs fail but looking at them they had all delaminated. You can usally tell if they are going to be fine by looking at the disk before burning, if they have a fingernail size marking on the writing surface at the outside then they've probably been dropped and you might aswell send them back.

can't go wrong here
i have now purchased over 600 of these and have had 1 coaster. i use LG GSA-4082b and GSA-H10N.
HD cameras use a hell of a lot of disc's for backing up. and as it's vids of my daughter i wouldn't trust any of the other discs I've tried and I've tried a lot of other brands.

Datawrite Titanium 8x
This is the 4th brand I have tried after Verbatim 4x, Infiniti 8x and PC-line 4x. It's the worst one so far. Problems that I haven't had with other brands:
1} burning with Nero and a check after burning - always unsuccessful although a dvd movie or divX movies are playable.
2) forget the 8x speed if you want to use it for dvd player, however works if burned 4x so so.

Tit an ium dvds
Been using these dvds for about 2 years plus now and had no probs with them,Have half a dozen mates who also use them too with no probs.They also work well in my jvc dvd recorder thats connected to my tv. Must be hardware problems that these bad reviews are getting these dvds. Off to place new order right now.

What has happened to this brand?
1800 of these DVD's and very little problems - maybe 5 coasters and usually due to excessive HDD activity while burning. Fantastic I thought. So I bought another batch of 600 and regretted it from day 1. Of the 600 only a little over 100 successfully burnt, and to be honest I don't trust these either. The first tub would rarely get past the lead-in track, then they started taking over 45 minutes to burn, then they wrote just a small amount of data before failing. I couldn't believe it. I was throwing them away left, right & center. Eventually I decided to save the failures. Reached 300 and decided never to buy this brand again! I urge you not to buy them! Unless some miracle has happened and the old staff that got things right are back! If that's the case, then someone let me know because I used to love these disks.

Pure junk - Re (CMC MAG. AE1) Titaniums
I've tried two 50 tubs of these in 2 Pioneer 111D's and a Pioneer 109 (all with latest firmware) across 3 pc's, Win2K / XP / Linux, and these rate as some of the worst media I've ever tried. From poor C1/C2 errors on the disks that did burn through to disks that failed to verify, failed burning halfway through, and refused to even *start* burning! Having said that, of the ones that burnt ok a few of them (and it is just a few) test out as being fantastic burns with Nero CD/DVD Speed. So I'd say quality differs wildly with these disks. You may get a tub that, barring a few coasters, works great for you, or (like me) you may end up with most of them in the bin. I can't recommend them.

They were good but not any more
These discs were excellent but now they are absolute pants. 9/10 failed. The discs that worked took over 45 minutes to burn and made my burner make some strange grumbling noises. I won't be buying anymore of these again for sure.

Used to be top class but lately mixed results
I've been using these discs for well over a year now without a problem on my NEC2510A, I can't even remember one failure.
The latest batch of discs that I bought though are causing problems with this writer as they aren't recognised as valid media. It could be that the firmware of the drive needs updating, as I've recently added a NEC5170 writer to my PC and the same discs read & write fine at 8x with that drive.
Unfortunately even though the discs are written fine the 2510 doesn't always read the disc correctly, and sometimes not at all.
A couple of months ago I would have rated these discs as 10/10. However due to the loss of compatiblity with older drives , I'll need to used them a few more times before I have full confidence again.
So far though the new drive has worked successfully with them.

WHAT HAPPENED ?
I have been using this disc for a long time time & had absolutely no problems. I've just started my latest batch - failure after failure. I've even tried burning at 1x (not 8x as guaranteed by the manufacturers) and they still skip & freeze. I will NOT be buying these ever again.

DVD jobbys
I go through maybe 100 every 3 months, get 4/5 coasters every 100. Whilst granted i shouldnt be getting any, 4/5 dont bother me all that much.
Compared to others i've used, god sent these are.
