Datawrite's Titanium branded range of discs have been some of the best selling DVD in the UK and Europe and have proven to be hugely popular with SVP customers.

Datawrite have been busy producing an updated version of these discs, branded 'vx2'. As with the release of the original Titanium brand in 2004, the first vx2 release is the 8x DVD-R.

The disc appearance hasn't changed much, with the tough titanium sandblast colour effect and classic Datawrite layout - logo at the top of the disc, disc information to the sides and a 4-lined area at the bottom to display the disc contents.

Poor
Had about 10 of a 50 disc spindle fail, was disappointed since the old Titanium's all most never failed.

Compatibility was also hit and miss.

Excellent
Amazing price and excellent quality. Used for various burns and had no fails yet after using over 200.

i've used datawrite for years and will continue to use these.

Not As Good As The Old Titaniums
I recently purchased some Datawrite Titanium vx2 (8x) DVD-R's and found them to be very hit or miss. When a disc failed to complete i noticed that the disc was burnt all the way except for a band at about halfway (approx 4mm wide).
Sorry Datawrite, but your new Titaniums are not a patch on the old ones.

An excellent all round disc!
I was somewhat put off by the low average rating score on SVP for these VX2 discs. However, having used Datawrite Greys before these and being very pleased with their performance I thought I'd take a chance and ignore the lower rated reviews above putting it down to some people not having the latest firmware for their burners.

I'm glad I did. These discs are excellent and very satisfactory. I've used 200 discs so far without one single problem backing up data, jpegs, mp3, and films without a hitch.

Highly recommended!

Thanks.

Good Or Bad
Burnt on a panasonic DVD recorder and they seem to burn okay.
Yet when you play them back on a different player they sort of play okay and the odd one will skip and freeze meaning you have to use the dvd recordre to replay it.
However if you read the disk on a pc with a sony brand new dvd write these are good drives all the disks have lots of jitter, error and seem to read slow.
A cheaper disk for cheaper quality.
So they will sort of play okay but I would avoid for masters.

No problems for me.
I had to upgrade the firmware on my burner for these to work but once I did I haven't had ant problems at all. I have used them to create video DVD's, Data DVD's and game backups all with no issues.

Highly reliable, all round DVDR.
