We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of high-speed media as most reported problems with DVD media are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

New media ID = Poor Quality
I've bought a 25-pk of these and instead of coming with the advertised DAXON016S media code they use now the lower quality UME02 media code.
Unsurprisingly enough for this MID, the burn quality is pretty poor: a 16x burn on a Pioneer DVR-212 (latest firmware) scanned with a LiteON SHW-1635S shows good PIE = 4.80/63/86114 (Average/Maximum/Total) results but more importantly poor PIF = 0.02/4/2682 results. This is one of the highest PIF values I've seen in a while!
If you have a look around in the relevant forums (such as CDFreaks) you'll see that this media performs just as bad (or worse) on any other DVD burner, and UME02 is regarded as a poor quality media ID.
My advice is to stay well away from this media!

Top Quality
I ordered a tub of these just to see what they were like, and considering the fairly low price I am very impressed with the write quality. I have no hesitation in recommending these to anyone.

excellent disc
I was getting problems with Datawrite yellows so I thought I'd give these a go after reading Steves review, they have not let me down.

Rapidly becoming a favourite
I started to get a few coasters with my usual
budget discs (just used for stuff to give to friends) so decided to give these a go. I have since re-ordered them a couple of times as they have proved to be very reliable indeed. No coasters out of about 100 used and they play/write in everything it goes in (both PC and stand alone equipment). Even my fussy Arcam player likes them.
I've even started to use them for TV recorded stuff that I usually only use TY Verbs for. That's how confident I am with them.
Don't hesitate, give them a go.
