We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of high-speed media as most reported problems are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

brilliant price, brilliant disk
only had 1 coaster (which is a record for me), and that was when my 2yr old nephew turned the power off. Recommend these disks to everyone, 1st class product, 1st class price.

Excellent
Just finished my 2nd batch of 100 Maxells and I must say that it's the first time I've ever burned 200 disks with only one failure (scratched). They all achieved quality scans of 95 to 98% when burned on a Benq 1620 and also Pioneer 112D. I am about to order my 3rd batch and hope I'm as lucky this time. I have used them for dvd movies and also data disks and have had no problems whatsoever, so if anyone is experiencing problems, it's possibly just a bad batch. I have also re-scanned old burned disks and they show minimal degredation which is a good sign of quality.

Maxell 16's
Just burned 200 of these Brilliant discs and will be moving on to these now that the Samsung silver top discs are not stocked here. I would definitely give these 8.5 out of 10.

Not so good.
This is the very first time I've had problems with a product sold by SVP. SVP have been very helpful although (and I hate to say it) a little slow in responding to my return ticket, but I imagine SVP have been very busy lately as I usually don't have to wait so long for a reply. (and to be perfectly honest, I bother them way too much. They must be tired of it. :P)
While I don't get 'coasters' as such, judging from the quality scans of these disks they're as close to a coaster as one can get these days.
Some advice to other SVP buyers: Coasters are very rare for any media, even the worst media around. So just because you can burn over 200 disks doesn't mean they're good disks, in fact they could be awful disks. There is many variables in determining a disks quality such as PIE, PIF, Jitter and of course things like reflectivity come into question for those wishing to play disks on standalone players.
Anyone interested in learning more should browse the cdfreaks forums.
I'm not saying these disks are downright awful, but they're on my drive. These disks might show great results on other drives and setups.
For anyone interested I'm using a Pioneer 112D and I'd recommend anyone with this drive to stay clear of this media.
I gave it a 3/10 because this media has been known to work well with certain drives, but this is not the case for the 112D.

Excellent
I bought 100 pack of these and am about half way through with no failures and excellent quality scores on a Benq 1620. These are my best blank dvd's so far. However, the packaging is very poor being cellophane wrapped with no spindle and mine split during transit damaging about 20 of them. Still excellent value though and I shall be ordering more.

Not So Impressed
I haven't had any burning failure problems, however I have an LG GSA-4167B with firmware DL13 and it will only burn to these disks at 12x. If I put in a CMC MAG M01 (000), the drive writes at 16x no problems.
Therefore if you have an LG drive and you specifically want to burn at 16x I would be cautious.
Still great value though.

Very Impressed
I do the digital editing and dvd production for Dunfermline
high school were i am currently a student.
I have burned 350 of these disks in total now. Only had 1
failed disk (witch i think was more the drives fault than the
dvds). I originaly bought the DVD-R disks but they were out
of stock when i needed to get some more so i bought these
DVD+R disks. When the disks arrive they are wrapped in
celophane there is no spindel to keep them on. They are a
cracking price for 100 disks and they are a good brand as well
i did not have to compomise on quality to keep the price
down low. The service from SVP was also impecable. 10 out of
10 all round
