Panasonic's PZ85 plasma series features Intelligent Frame Creation technology, achieving excellent moving picture resolution and flicker-less images. With a 50Hz video signal input, the Intelligent Frame Creation achieves a high moving picture resolution even in fast-motion scenes. This function makes a new frame that is calculated by speed and direction of motion, allowing natural frame-to-frame transitions to occur for smooth motion images at a high resolution.

Every image is richly expressive, from bright scenes such as scorching desert landscapes, to dark cave scenes. Contrast is enhanced by the new Real Black Drive system (a pre-discharge control system) and a higher base luminance from improvements made during the panel production process. The high contrast ration creates deep, robust blacks and reproduces scenes with a delicate balance of light and shadow.

Smooth gradation lends natural expression to images such as sunsets. VIERA brings you the wide colour range of the x.v.Colour standard and the natural colours made possible by the Deep Colour standard through its compliance with the newest video standards.

In addition to brilliant picture quality, VIERA models offer the easy operation made possible by VIERA Link and the SD card slot. VIERA Link lets you operate other connected Panasonic AV components using only the VIERA TV's remote control unit. The majority of the VIERA line-up is equipped with a slot for large-capacity SDHC cards.
