We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date as a large number reported problems we receive are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

Philips Branded 16x DVD-R (100 spindles)
Nice retail packaging. Top surface to the disc does not have much space for writing details of disc contents; bottom part of disc is all branded, top half has the Philips logo which leaves you with one strip for details. Dye of this spindle is CMC MAG. AM3 not RitekF01 as advertised. The CMC MAG. AM3 is ok for writing to (using Pioneer writers) but I've always found playback either on DVD players or consoles can be a problem. On the cheap media, I would normally only use Ritek dye such as F01 or G05 for playing testing ideas for clients. When creating final discs for clients I'd look towards the Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden dye (not Indian factory) especially if the client wishes to retrieve data from the discs in the future. There currently doesn't seem to be any non-printable RitekF01 discs :(
