Good value for money.
Optiarc AD-5170A firmware 1.14
NEC ND-2510 firmware 2.FA
Bought both F01 and F02 pidatas. Both are good value for money, though they certainly don't beat Verbatim when it comes to quality.
I've had fewer than 1% coasters, all of which where on the Optiarc - I was a bit surprised that they work better on my older drive. Those that are not complete failures so far seem to read with no errors. Burn speed varies dramatically from disk to disk and it takes longer for the computer to mount them than what is the case with Verbs. Then again, there is a fairly substantial price difference. All in all, I'm quite pleased.

Good stuff
I use an NEC ND-4550A and have had no complaints with these discs at all. One pack of 50 and no coasters. What a pleasure!

Did not burn on a Sony RDR-HXD91
Previously completely reliable domestic HDD/DVD recorder from Sony with latest firmware would not burn these reliably discs except at 1x.
Less than 1 in 5 discs burnt at all at full spped. The recorder would attempt to start a job for about 1min, and then abort (leaving a disc which could still be used at 1x).
For this deck I would give these discs 0/10 but others so far seem to have had no problems so I've given them a 5.

good going bad?
ive been using these for a while now and they seem to be getting worse with faults, im getting a fair bit of coaster haven here with disks just not copying or burning a small ring on the disk and failing usually this is a sign theres been a change in manufacture and then they start having issues, but why do they now use a f02 on 16x but ritek g5 on 8x??

Fantastic Vaule
Just bought 500 of these 16x Pidata disc and i must admit it was the best buy i have ever made with blank data.
I have used 200 so far and no coasters yet.
And at the low price you would be foolish not to purchase these.
I recommend these discs very highly

Fantastic discs and what a pair.
As per my review on the Pidata Pastel pink 8x (quoted below), these 16x version are every bit as good and quicker (twice as fast to write).
Very reliable at 16x write.
Now i have got BLUE for myself and PINK for my partner.
Note to SVP:- Why not stock the Pidata/Smartbuy PRINTABLE 16x as well? That is sure to sell with qualities like these.
QUTOE "On par with Smartbuy 8X , same dye, same quality.
I generally liked the Prodisc media especially from svp. These ones are perfect like the Smartbuy dvd-r 8x (also from Prodisc). It write and read 100%. Perfect if you don't want to waste time with cheaper media and yet it is very affordable. It has a nice pastel pink background and lines nicely layout for marking your titles etc.
It has the PIDATA LOGO watermark to give you the confidence of a reliable brand behind it.
Very pleased indeed with my archiving clunking away faultlessly at 8x.
Tried a few of the 16x PIDATA PASTEL BLUE disc as well and they seemed to have the same high quality.
They are both cosmetically perfect which is a real bonus given that there are so many cheap bad media in the market. Definitely a 10/10."
