Unlike a double layer (dual layer) disc where the two recording layers are on top of one another but both on the same side of the disc, these Ritek DVDR allow you to record data to both sides of the disc.

There are pros and cons of double sided discs:
Pro: Lots of space on the disc, ideal for keeping up to 8.5GB of data together on one disc without resorting to more expensive Double Layer discs.

Con: Nowhere to write a disc name or title on the disc itself because both sides are used for data. The data needs to have a break in it so you can turn the disc over during recording or playback.
