The Sony RDR-HXD770 is a home cinema fan's dream. With a built-in 120GB hard drive this DVD recorder offers the potential for an amazing 340 hours of material to be recorded without the need for a single blank disc!
Another advantage is the inclusion of both Freeview and analogue television tuners, providing good picture quality and the widest selection of free-to-air terrestrial channels and of course, the unit will also record on a wide variety of blank discs (including double-layer) and unlike some of it's rivals the RDR-HXD770 will also happily playback DivX and SVCD discs.
When it comes to connectivity the Sony recorder is amongst the best in its class. The HDMI output with 1080p upscaling offers stunning quality and, as a further bonus, is integrated with BRAVIA Theatre Sync for one-click system operation.
DV and USB inputs for capture and playback from external storage devices or a camcorder, and a programme edit mode - very useful for transferring home movies from MiniDV or Digital8 to DVD and for loading up the built-in hard disk with hundreds of music and picture files, for jukebox playback.
Adding to the joy of using the RDR-HXD770 you'll also find a Digital Music Jukebox (up to 999 songs) and Digital Photo Album which both utilise the available hard drive space.
Built to Sony's usual high standards and stylish to boot, the RDR-HD770 is a recording companion par excellence!

Grade A' Factory Reburbished Stock: What is a refurbished item? The name 'refurbished' is something of a misnomer. An item being classed as 'refurbished' does not mean it's second hand or used. Typically they are products that have been returned to the manufacturer by customers, for any number of reasons (see below), and then tested at the factory to make sure they're in tip-top shape with any defective or damaged parts replaced. All of the top manufacturers refurbish items and then resell them at much cheaper prices!
Refurbished products can originate from a variety of sources, including:
- Customer returns or cancelled orders
- Fully-functional products that have left the manufacturers warehouse and therefore can no longer be sold as new.
- Packaging damage during shipment and returned to the manufacturer
- Slightly defective part that's been replaced by the manufacturer, tested and then repackaged just like new
- Demonstration and trial equipment
- Returned by the seller to make room for newer product lines
- Products that have been used for purposes such as trade shows, customer events, or solution centers and then returned
- Trade-in programs - Products customers have returned to the manufacturer in order to upgrade to new technology.
Why should I buy refurbished equipment? In short - refurbs save cash!
Why hesitate getting the best value by getting the exact same equipment, with original manufacturers warranty at a much lower price?
