Great Value
Bought two of these to house hard drives taken out of my pc when I upgraded them. Easy to fit drives into the caddy. Screws are a bit fiddly but you also get a magnetic screwdriver to help. Mains lead could have been longer, but for the price this item is great value for money.

Great improvement
Having used several Sumvision enclosures, this one (black version) is a great improvement. Very easy to install a hard drive, the construction of this unit has a lot more quality than some of the previous models.

I keep one of these enclosures open for testing hard-drives, so it's a case of attaching the IDE and power cable and connecting via the USB socket. One tip, be careful with the power cable, the wires are crimped-in and held in place with a plastic clip. These can work lose over time.

The price has come down too, well worth buying.

Good Case
Easy to install disk - screws are a bit fiddly, but it's better than huge & ugly. Works fine with XP 32- and 64-bit and Fedora 8 (also 64-bit).

The power cable length is a bit short, but I just used a longer lead I had lying about. (A 2m power lead, item 5070, £1.39, should do the trick.)

WARNING - Check your disk spec - I thought one would work because my brand new PC could detect it OK, but it's an old ATAPI v4/Ultra DMA 33 and so I had to swap for a newer one. I thought at first the caddy was faulty, but it was me! SVP customer services were really great about sorting me out.

No great feet of engineering
Ive been using the 2 I bought without problems.

I have to agree with Narimon regarding the power cable length which is not long enough to allow the power supply to sit on the floor.

To add my own minor criticism. The case has no rubber feet and the front of the case has a slight lip that overhangs the top and underside of the case which means the case can only be used vertically using the supplied stand as it will not sit flush on a table. For the same reason, the units cant be stacked.

Easily rectified using stick-on foam or rubber feet Only a minor point I know, but I would rather trade the cheap screwdriver supplied for feet on the case if the unit is built to a price.

Nice case
Overall a very nice case.
Easy to put together, stays reasonably cool and looks very nice. Overall performance is what you would expect from a USB 2 drive.
2 points that let this product down.
1: The cable from the power supply is too short. You will have to put the power supply on your desk as it want stretch to the floor.
2: The horrible GREEN LED on the front. if you look at the picture above it looks more blue (which would go perfectly with my system) but in fact it is an insipid greed.
