Turn a 3.5" SATA hard drive into a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device with this stylish caddy from Tsunami. Simply install a suitable hard drive and connect the device to a router or hub-switch’s ethernet port to provide a network storage/backup solution.

The unit supports DHCP, FTP server, printer server, SMB and BT (BitTorrent client) downloads/uploads even when your PC is turned off. Also offers support for printer, external hard drive and pen drive network sharing.

Includes free backup software and a quiet 80mm fan to help keep your hard drive cool.

Not as great as it looks.....
I bouught this just over a week ago and have had a few problems. It has a very slow transfer speed, 3.5mbps was the max i got and because it doesnt work with NTFS file system, once i had formatted the drive to FAT32, it can't handle large files. The print server wasnt working properly with my epson printer until i did a firmware update and even then, some of my extra functions on the printer such as card reader and cd printing wouldn't work. It was also hanging for a few secs everytime i wanted to print. Case looks nice and is relatively quiet most the time but i feel let down with it overall. Instructions aren't great either and I will be sending it back.

Now thats its arrived and runniing.
Its not quite worth all those 10/10 because seriously looking closer at the assembly of the sata port on the bord inside its soldered in the wrong way around. Another minus is that there were no screws to hold the hdd inside the caddie or any other way to old that hdd safely in place. Thirdrd but not lat while the build qulity of this item is what I ws expecting the performance and the wy it responds its very buggy and doesnt work quite so well as expected. I upgraded the firmware which is available from the manuacturesr site http://tsunamitech.webnode.com/support/ I am very disapointed with obverall performance abnd promised functionality that really is not there... I will old on to this for further testing another two or three days but I suppose if this doesnt get solved it is going back. looks 10/10 performance 4/10 and overall expectation and finctionality that is not really working as expected 2/20

Prices are expensive
havent received the item yet but I just found it £9 cheaper somewhre else [link removed] But then agin SVP have greta customer service even if they never pick up the phone. * SVP Note * Beware of stores that display the ex-VAT price in bigger, bolder letters than the inc-VAT price. This item wasn't as cheap elsewhere as you thought it was...

BitTorrent is perfectly legal.
In response to Peter's intervention BitTorrent is a perfectly legal protocol as it is FTP, HTTP, SSH, etc…etc… It can become illegal only if you start to download copyrighted materials, but it would be the same if you used FTP or other internet transfer files protocols for that same purpose. As always…technology is never illegal...instead it is the malicious use of it. Directly from wikipedia: "BitTorrent metafiles themselves do not store copyrighted data, hence BitTorrent itself is not illegal - it is the use of it to copy copyrighted material that contravenes laws in some locations." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_(protocol) SVP is just selling a perfectly legal device...no worries. ;-)

Bit Torrent is Illegal isn't it?
I thought downloading stuff using bit torrent was illegal, how can you legally sell this product? * SVP Note * There are no legality issues at all, provided you don't download copyright/illegal material or break your ISP's terms and conditions.
