The changeover from analogue to digital of all radio and TV broadcasting is already implemented in most European regions and is expected to be completed by 2010 at the latest. With this new Yamada DTV-1300 set-top Freeview receiver you can prepare yourself for the digital revolution.
The unit's powerful tuner assures the reception of any programs you want and the electronic program guide (EPG) clearly shows program information for the next 7 days. With its compact size (no larger than a sheet of A4 paper) the DTV-1300 is also small and discrete and easily hidden.
Features: - DVB-T MPEG2 compliant audio and video decoding - 7-day Electronic Program Guide (EPG) - OSD languages: German, French, English, Spanish - Terrestrial channel autoscan and manual scan - Supports up to 600 channels - Software update via serial port - Dual SCART interface - Remote control - Video text

Disappointing
Despite the description mentioning a 'powerful tuner', I found this box the least successful of several I have tried. I do live in a poor reception area, but this box even failed to correctly identify BBC1 on several tuning attempts, a problem I have not had with other STBs. It insists on grouping TV and radio channels in different lists, but gets it wrong, with no way I can find of manually correcting it.
It also started up with subtitles on, and the 'subtitle' button brings up a menu which fails totally to turn them off. The instruction book is of no help, but I eventually discovered I could turn them off in the language settings - apparently 'off' is a language!
The 7-day EPG is not particularly user-friendly, either, as you just have to scroll through each day in turn until you get to the particular day you're looking for. Other boxes usually have buttons to advance by the page and day.
All in all, one of the worst STBs I've come across, I'm afraid.
