Carefree handling has been a promise and expectation ever since optical discs have been developed. Yet, with today's conventional DVDs, scratches, dirt and fingerprints are still among the most prominent causes of record/playback errors, which, at times, may render a disc completely useless.
These Verbatim DVDR have a Hardcoat Scratchguard layer to protect against damage from scratches and fingerprints meaning that once data has been written to them, it will last a very long time.
The discs themselves have a dark grey top surface, branded with the Verbatim logo and disc information. They are supplied in their own individual jewel cases so you can save money on storage.
ADVDinfo: MCC 02RG20 Packaging: Verbatim branded pack of 5 discs, each packed in their own jewel case.

Why the black surface?
As usual, the verbatim disk quality is excellent. The only real difficulty is marking the disks - it's impossible without using a label, and I'm reluctant to use them as they can cause the disk to vibrate in use. Silver markers seem to work OK, but the point of buying disks of this quality for archiving is longevity - why risk using a pen using solvents that could damage the disks integrity. It's like the TDK blue tops all over again, but worse!
