We always recommend that customers keep the firmware on their DVD writers up to date. This is especially true in the case of double layer media as a large number reported problems we receive are due to out of date firmware. Click here for our guide to firmware upgrading.

Worth the price
These disks are very expensive, but you're really getting what you pay for. The disks are very high quality - I've burned nearly 100 without a single coaster.
The only niggle I have is that they take about 45 minutes to burn. Other than that, though, they're fantastic.

Stop whining.
Apology in advance to anyone religious but, JESUS CHRIST!!!
Yes they're expensive but what on earth do you expect. I've tried the Yellow Datawrite, the Ridata, the Pink Arita and the Purple 8x Traxdata and all, yes all including the Traxdata have failed miserably. The Traxdata were really good when I first got hold of them right up until December of last year then they disappeared and when they resurfaced turned out only to be good enough to use as mini frisbees.
I'm not even going to bother comment on the rest, the two best discs you could use for 360 backups are the Gold 2.4x Traxdata and any, that's any Verbatim from both of those two I've always had 100% success, no burn failures and they always work in the 360. Basically my whole point to this is if you want quality and peace of mind you have to pay that little extra for it. And I really don't understand this hard drive dual layer comparison argument thing. It's like saying a 250cc motorbike is cheaper than a Porsche Cayenne, yes it's most likely true but they're two different things either you want a car or a motorbike.

Great Quality but much too expensive
hi,
i agree with most folks here - compared with other "no name" DL printables this is like a Bently/Rolls Royce/Maybach within this category.
No coasters till now, all video Backups play well to pwefwxtly in a variety of stand-alones including the very sensitive denon players.
two negatives still spoil a 10/10 rating :
1. as the mentioned cars they a much too expensive and today one can get a 500 gig sata 300 drive for about 95 Euro - do the maths if you like - and i am talking of the top Seagate models with 32 MB cache, 24/7, and 5 year warranty.
2. as this mediua are very expansive why not using the TY watershield surface (verbatim and TY seem to work together quite well) and make it "hub"-printable - as much printable area towards the centre as possible ?
i already bought 2 packs of them and yes i was satisfied with their performance but i will defiantly switch to hdds rather than waste my money.
cheers alex

The Best in DL optical Printable but more expensive then a Hard Drive
I wholeheartedly agree with Robert Davis and his assessment. I have bought hundreds of these discs but at this day and age they are now way too expensive. 25 discs with 9 Gig per disc is a total of 225 Gig for £44.54 or £0.20 per Gig.
A Maxtor 320GB Hard Drive SATA-300, 7200 RPM, 8MB costs £42.88 it is less expensive and you pay £0.134 per Gig.
I have started to switch from storing on DVD-DL to storing on HDs using a hot swappable SATA connector and it saves storage space

Fantastic discs....but...
Way too pricey these days. The budget priced DL discs have halved in price yet these have actually GONE UP in price!
The burn quality on these discs is a cut above, seriously there's no other disc that comes close (apart from another verbatim branded DL).
But the problem is, you can get almost 3 budget DLs for the same price as 1 of these...Quality is superb, but there's comes a point where you just can't justify the pricing.
I used to buy these all the time about a year ago. Those discs are still working well as Xbox 360 backups, discs I have bought around the same time from other manufacturers sometimes have the odd reading problem even though they have no scratches, still...They are readable in the PC find just not the pants DVD-ROM drive of the 360.
So I just redo those backups. I would have to do this again for these to justify their price for my entire collection...
Sorry I'm just not willing to pay the price that these go for, and SVP do them cheap compared to other places!
